MEP 3D Modeling and Drafting for Fabrication and Constructability, Complete Trade Coordination.
SCOPE OF WORK
EliteCAD was contracted by Related Properties to work side by side with the Architectural Design & Engineering team to develop a Constructible BIM Model and Mechanical Shop Drawings for 17 floors of the new mixed-use skyscraper Tower E, or Equinox Tower, at Hudson Yards. Elite's scope of work included all MEP 3D Modeling and Drafting for Fabrication and Constructability. Elite was responsible for Complete Trade Coordination and the production of nearly 100% of Fully Coordinated Construction Drawing Bid Set of Documents
OVER $1,855,000 IN SAVINGS:
We identified over 350 steel openings prior to steel fabrication, resulting in a minimum of $1,855,000 in savings pre-construction. The cost to create each opening in the shop was approximately $500 per square foot where performing the same work in the field after the steel was already in place would have cost $5,800 per square foot. Elite CAD Designs was able to reduce the overall project cost before construction began.
BIM & VDC SERVICES:
EliteCAD uses Building Information Modeling (BIM) & Virtual Designs & Construction (VDC) technologies to alleviate unforeseen changes, conflicts, surprise schedule creep and hidden construction costs. Our process mitigates project risk. By completing a fully coordinated construction drawing BID set of drawings before sub-contractors were hired, the entire construction schedule shortened, further reducing the project cost.
