Ambulatory Care Center Mechanical Design
ROI
Reduced field labor costs by over 75%, minimized construction conflicts, and optimized project timelines through pre-fabrication and precise 3D modeling.
Project SQFT :
60,000 sqft
Scope
Point cloud laser scanning, 3D modeling, constructability analysis, and coordination of mechanical systems for installation and pre-fabrication.
SCOPE OF WORK
EliteCAD utilized point cloud laser scanning and 3D modeling to design and coordinate the installation of mechanical systems for the NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Center. The work included pre-fabrication planning and constructability analysis to optimize the installation process, reducing field labor costs by over 75% and ensuring seamless integration into the existing building structure.
The Project:
EliteCAD was contracted by GDO Contracting to model, detail and coordinate manufacture and installation of the 240 East 38th Street mechanical systems. GDO Contracting is one of New York City’s premier providers of commercial mechanical construction services. As part of NYU Langone Medical Centers plan to expand its wide array of outpatient services they have expanded their footprint at the 240 East 38th Street Verizon Building. This 327,000 square-feet facility serves as the new NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Center.
The Solution:
We leveraged our unique process of 3D modeling, thoughtful production strategy, point cloud laser scanning and logistics planning to fit new systems into an already congested mechanical area. Modeling for constructability and pre-fabrication allowed for seamless installation of mechanical systems and accounted for a more than 75% field welding labor savings.
